Kudos to the film director for sticking to his original concept rather than getting carried away by all the hype. They stayed true to this, re-enacting the entire Mahabharatha in its entirety with a new script and a new cast. The visual effects make it very easy for the viewer to come to the conclusion that this is a regular Bollywood film made in the US, to be shown in the theatres. (it has a Hollywood feel when the fight sequences begin) Kudos to these boys for accomplishing the impossible on a budget of just 25 crore!
Most of the action scenes are quite routine, but the film shows a lot of effort to be visually pleasing, with the directors relying heavily on fight sequences for the story to catch the eye. Probably the most impressive thing is the way the film manages the emotional impact given to certain key scenes. So many movies have it, but the visual effects and sound effects have managed to cleverly influence our emotions, the result being that it's difficult to think of anything but the film, and its characters, when the movie ends.
Sizzling action, fascinating performances, romance, gory violence - the epic blockbuster has it all. The ending is a real blast. The storyline is simple - an ancient demon is cut from his everlasting sleep by an out-of-this-world army, and the king follows his advice to find help. One epic battle follows another, with hordes of humans the enemies to fight against... In the end, how will the saviour hold the demon? He seems to be every creature's nightmare, and the world's champion warrior.
This is the movie that everyone is talking about, and for good reason. It's a great story set in an epic and visually stunning milieu. It has breathtaking locations all over the Indian mainland - from hilltops to rocky landscapes and sandy deserts. And it has some of the most intriguing characters and action scenes. It's not a showy film, but it has ample scope and depth for the stories they tell. d2c66b5586
